About Mrs. Palmer

The 2022-2023 school year will be my twenty-fifth year of general and advanced chemistry

instruction at Carthage Senior High School. Carthage is so very dear to my heart because I

attended Pleasant Valley Elementary School, Carthage Junior High School, and graduated from

good 'ole CHS in 1993. I received a Bachelors degree in chemistry from Missouri Southern State

University in 1997 and a Masters in Science Education from Pittsburg State University in 2005.

I am an eMINTS/METS certified instructor, which has allowed me to foster the learning environment with the aid of laptops, VR goggles and Vernier probes and software.  I as the secondary science chair and in 2017 I was awarded as the MSTA secondary teacher of the year. In 2013, 2015,  2017, and 2021 I was recognized as a Missouri Finalist for the PAEMST -Presidential Awards in Excellence in Mathematics and Science and was DESE's 2016-2017 Regional Teacher of the Year.

I am also a wife and mother of three beautiful daughters, one of which has cystic fibrosis. When

I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family and raising awareness and funds

for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; often traveling and speaking to civic organizations.
